The first flag of the Village of New Maryland, adopted on February 15, 1995. The flag was a banner of the Arms of the Village which are loosely based upon the flag of the U.S. State of Maryland.

The original flag met with an unfavorable response, and a new flag designed, and was granted by the Canadian Heraldic Authority in 1998.
