The Finance Committee of the
Village of New Maryland is established by the Mayor to assist in
discharging the Council’s responsibility as follows:
to assist Council in meeting their responsibilities with respect to
financial reporting, internal control and accountability
to
ensure that Council is provided with financial plans and proposals
consistent with it’s overall strategic plan and policy objectives
to co-ordinate and bring to Council an annual operating and
capital budget.
to review other matters having a significant
impact on a future budget
Membership
The Finance Committee consists of a chair and a co-chair from Council, four (4) members of the
public. The assistant Treasurer and the Treasurer shall also be members
of the committee, with a voice but no vote. All members are approved
by the Mayor of the Village of New Maryland.
Meeting Schedule The Finance Committee holds its regular monthly
meetings on the second Wednesday of each month. Meetings
commence at 7:00pm and are held in the Council Chamber at
the Village Office, 584 New Maryland Highway.
