New Maryland Centre

Combining the best of city and rural environments, the New Maryland Centre is an unparalleled venue in the heart of the Village for meetings, seminars, corporate dining and entertainment. The New Maryland Centre boasts a large main hall that can accommodate up to 300 people and is perfectly suited for your anniversary, retirement or wedding receptions. Private meeting rooms are also available for smaller groups.

The New Maryland Centre offers an affordable and private alternative to hotel banquet halls and conference facilities.  From business functions to social festivities, the New Maryland Centre is designed to accommodate a wide variety of events and is an ideal location for your next event. The New Maryland Centre features:

  • Accommodates functions of up to 300 guests

  • Two multi-use assembly halls with modern kitchen and beverage service facilities

A community centre for programs, activities and special bookings (dances, weddings, etc.). This facility is home to the New Maryland Lions Club, and the 1st New Maryland Beaver Colony.

Victoria Hall & Public Park
466 New Maryland Highway

A quaint heritage hall, built in 1918 for the New Maryland Women's Institute, Victoria Hall s a central point and gathering place for the Village. The beauty of the building with its vaulted ceiling and restored original wood floors, along with the kitchen and washrooms, make this a beautiful facility for community events, celebrations and special rentals.  Click here for more information on Victoria Hall.

New Maryland Elementary School Gym Program
75 Clover Street

Through a Community Use Schools agreement with School District 18, the Village manages the New Maryland Elementary School on week nights and weekends to provide the community with a variety of programs, sports and events. For the Gym schedule & updates, call 451-4732 (recorded voice message).

Outdoor Facilities

Athletic Park

The Athletic Park, located beside the New Maryland Elementary School, is the central sports and field facility for organized and leisure activities in New Maryland. The park is extremely busy from the Spring to Fall with sports, special events and tournaments at the following areas:

  • Two ball fields, one lit for evening games

  • Batting cage

  • Two soccer fields

  • Basketball court

  • Two tennis courts

  • Skateboard park 

  • Beach volleyball court

  • Outdoor rinks (during winter months)

Field Closures
If you are wondering if the fields are closed simply call the Recreation Hotline (recorded message) 451-4732 to obtain up to date information. Field closures due to wet field conditions are posted by 3:30pm daily (Monday-Friday) and on the weekend as required. Please respect all field closures. Field closures are necessary to protect athletes from injury as well as the turf from damage. These are your fields! Please help us take care of them!

Outdoor Skating Rinks
During the winter months an outdoor skating rink is a source of enjoyment for residents of all ages. The rinks, hockey and skating, are maintained at the tennis and basketball courts (weather/temperature permitting). The outdoor rinks are open daily. There are dusk to dawn lighting provided for evening skating.

Rules & Regulations

  • The use of helmets and or any other safety gear is recommended.

  • Sticks & pucks are not allowed on the public skating outdoor rink

  • Sticks & pucks are allowed only on the hockey outdoor rink

  • The outdoor rinks are unsupervised areas/span>

  • Skate at your own risk

  • The Village is not responsible for items left in the changing hut

  • The Village makes every effort to keep the rinks clear and ready for use however we encourage residents to bring a shovel to assist in clearing of the ice surface.

Playgrounds & Tot Lots

The Village of New Maryland also possesses several playgrounds and tot lots in various locations:

  • Shaw Park - Springwater Place

  • Centennial Park - Centennial Heights

  • Orchard Park - Applewood Acres

  • Village Park - Village Municipal Office

  • Sunrise Park - Sunrise Estates

  • Wildwood Park - New Maryland Centre

  • There are also playgrounds at the New Maryland Elementary School

Most of the playgrounds consist of:

  • Play and climbing structures, with slides

  • swing sets

  • open playing area and/or ball field

  • basketball court

  • picnic tables
