Open Gym(September –
June) All ages are welcome to come use the New Maryland Elementary School Gym
during these dedicated open gym times. Some equipment is available:
volleyball nets, badminton nets, floor hockey nets, basketball nets and
balls. You are welcome to bring your own equipment too! Try indoor
walking/running.
Wednesdays (half gym) - 6:00pm-8:00pm
Saturdays (full gym) - 1:00pm-3:30pm
Sundays (full gym) - 12:00pm-2:00pm
The cost is $2 per person per night or buy a Gym
Membership Card $12/per person per term for residents and $15/person per
term for non-residents. Term 1: Sept-December Term 2: January—June. For

Tennis Lessons(Summer
Only) The Recreation & Leisure Services Department offers several FREE Try
Tennis Clinics in early spring each year to introduce residents to the
game and the skills of the sport. The Tennis Lessons are offered for
youth and adults at either for beginner and intermediate levels
throughout the summer months by certified instructor(s).

Community Garden
(Spring to Fall) The Recreation & Leisure Services Department now has a community garden
where residents can reserve a 12x12 plot to plant vegetables, flowers
etc. during the months of may-October. The garden is located behind the
Forbes property along the New Maryland Hwy. Space is limited and plots
are reserved on a first come, first serve bases. For more

In Motion(Year Round)
The Village of New Maryland and
the City of Fredericton, along with other key partners in the Greater
Fredericton Region, are joining forces to bring In Motion to our Region.
In Motion is an innovated health
promotion strategy with its emphasis on increasing physical activity.
The initiative was created by a Saskatoon Health Region in partnership
with the University of Saskatchewan (College of Kinesiology), City of
Saskatoon (Community Service Department) and ParticipACTION.
