Babysitter Courses
The Recreation & Leisure Services Department offers several Babysitter Courses for youth ages 11 & up.

 

The next course is being held on July 21 & August 18 at New Maryland Centre.
Times: 9:00am-4:00pm
Cost: $30

Mayor’s Activity Awards
June 28th to August 20th
Earn your Bronze, Silver, or Gold awards! Get In Motion, Eat Healthy & Have Fun! This exciting program encourages healthy eating and physical activity for youth ages 6-12.  Youth choose from a variety of activities and healthy eating choices and earn points based on the difficulty/challenge of the items chosen.

Summer Day Camp (Summer Months only June-August)
The Recreation & Leisure Services Department offers a Summer Day Camp Program for youth between the ages of 6-12 during the months of June, July, and August (8 weeks). The Summer Day Camp program is comprised of eight fun-filled weeks of crazy themed games, crafts and special outings with one week designated for youth ages 10-13 year olds.

Tennis Lessons (Summer Only)
The Recreation & Leisure Services Department offers several FREE Try Tennis Clinics in early spring each year to introduce residents to the game and the skills of the sport.  The Tennis Lessons are offered for youth and adults at either for beginner and intermediate levels throughout the summer months by certified instructor(s).

Rotating Playground “Free” (Summer Months only June-August)
The Recreation & Leisure Service Department offers a “Free” Drop in Rotating Playground Program that is supervised by Recreation Department staff. The program is comprised of games, sports and crafts that fit the weekly theme appropriate for children ages 5-12 at the various Village parks. The supervised program rotates during the week days and runs in the afternoon between 1:00pm - 4:00pm. More detailed information will be made available in early Spring.   • Tuesdays: Centennial Park

  • Wednesdays: Orchard Park

  • Fridays: Shaw Park

Little Fingers Toddler Program (Summer Months Only)
The Recreation & Leisure Services Department’s Little Fingers Toddler Program (3-5 year olds) offers preschoolers a taste of camp within a nurturing and well structured environment. These camps are designed especially with young children in mind. This half day camp is brimming with games, crafts, stories, sing-a-longs, and special themes. Your child will love these activities, and you will be delighted to see his/her creativity and social skills blossom.

Time: 9:00am-12:00pm
Location: New Maryland Elementary School
Cost: $35/participant per week
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Friday  

  • Movin’ & Groovin’: July 12-16

  • Games & Giggles: July 26-30

  • Little Adventures:  Aug 9-13
