Counsellor in Training  (AGES 14-16) (Summer Months Only)

Are you too young to work and too old for camp? Why not consider applying to become a Counsellor in Training (CIT) with the Village’s Recreation & Leisure Services Department? Youth aged 14-16 can volunteer to be a CIT for two weeks at our summer Day Camp program. To apply, complete and submit your CIT Application Form 2025 by Wednesday, May 21st.

Applicants will be invited to attend an evening meet & greet with Day Camp staff on Tuesday May 27th from 6:00 – 7:00 at the New Maryland Center.  The format of the evening will include a discussion on the benefits of the CIT program, group conversation and ice breakers, and individual interviews with staff.  CIT’s will be assigned a Camp Councillor Buddy who will mentor and work with the CIT as they gain first-hand experience working with the staff and leading games and activities.  CIT’s will receive a staff t-shirt and will also be invited to attend our Thursday day trips.  At the end of the summer, the CIT’s will be invited to attend an awards ceremony in the last week of Day Camp and participants will receive a certificate.
