There are many different programs for any age within New Maryland. You can view the Village sponsored programs, or the Community sponsored programs.

Babysitter Courses

The Recreation & Leisure Services Department offers several Babysitter Courses for youth ages 11 and older. Our next course is being held on August 14th.

Registration forms can be picked up and payment made at the Village Office (cash/cheque/debit). Please note we cannot "hold" a spot for your child. A completed form and paid fee will confirm the registration. For additional information, please contact the Recreation Department at 451-8508.

Counsellor in Training (Summer Months only)
Are you too young to work and too old for camp? Why not consider applying to become a Counsellor in Training (CIT) with the Village’s Recreation & Leisure Services Department? Youth aged 14-16 can volunteer to be a CIT.  To get involved, simply complete and submit your application form or pick one up at the Village Office. Deadline for submitting an application is Friday, May 26th.

Applicants will be invited to an evening meet and greet with our day Camp Counsellors and Recreation staff, and interviews will be held. We will be selecting eight CIT’s for Day Camp and two CIT’s for our Little Fingers Toddler Program. CIT’s will be assigned a Day Camp Counsellor “Buddy” and will be given two weeks to volunteer at Day Camp or three weeks of 1/2 days at Little Fingers.  During this time, the CIT’s will assist the Day Camp leaders and test their new skills by leading some games and activities during the week. CIT’s will receive a staff t-shirt and will also be invited to participate in our weekly Day Trips.  At the end of the summer, the CIT’s will be evaluated by their Day Camp “Buddy” and will receive a certificate of completion at an awards ceremony in the last week of Day Camp.

For additional information, please contact Michelle in the Recreation & Leisure Services Department at 451-8508 or .
