Sunrise Wellfield Development Update

Contract 2 for the Sunrise Wellfield Development Project is nearing completion. The water supply line from the well sites to the future water treatment is being completed today. The access road to the water treatment plant has been built, the intersection of Weston Street and Kingston Street has also been upgraded with new asphalt paving and storm sewer system. Base gravels will be placed on the access road to the well sites next week.

Contract 3 which includes the water distribution line from the water treatment plant site to Route 101 will be started approximately mid November and is expected to be completed in early spring of next year. The water line will run parallel to the existing sewer line south of Sunrise Estates with a spur line coming out to Lark Street.

The water treatment system manufacture, Magnor, will be conducting a pilot plant test to ensure their water treatment system is capable of treating the water from the production wells. This is planned to take place mid November.
