“Construction Project Updates”

Village of New Maryland “Water Main Construction” along the New Maryland Highway Update: We are at the end of week six and the construction is nearing the halfway point. The contractor has installed approximately 750 meters of water main along the New Maryland Highway from the New Maryland Pharmacy to the New Maryland Irving. The work also included several service laterals to homes and businesses.

The construction site is reduced to one lane and is controlled by traffic lights during the weekdays. On weekends, the highway is opened to two lanes of traffic.  Please use caution when driving through the construction site, BE MINDFUL of your speed, construction equipment, workers and PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE THE TRAFFIC SIGNALS. We want to ensure the safety of our workers and the motoring public.

Village of New Maryland Construction of two “Well Control Buildings“: The site around the two new well control buildings have been backfilled, the floor slabs have been poured and the concrete structures have been placed around the well heads. Construction will continue with the erection of walls.

NB “Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DTI)” Construction Update: DTI started work on the New Maryland Highway with the replacement of the culvert at Baker Brook. The traffic detour around the site has been completed and excavation for the culvert has begun.
