Annual Christmas Tree Pick-Up – 1st New Maryland Scouts

As with previous years, The New Maryland Scouts group is working with the village staff to run a Christmas Tree pickup and recycling on Saturday, January 6th. The tree pickup will operate within village limits and is a community service provided to all residents. As you may have seen, our neighboring Scout groups operating within city of Fredericton request that you pre-register to have your tree picked up, this is NOT required here in the Village of New Maryland. The Village staff and Scouts will canvas all streets within the village to collect trees.

Although donations are accepted and appreciated, there is no set charge for this service. Simply have your tree at your curb by 9am on the morning of January 6th and we’ll pick it up. If you wish to make a donation in support of our local 1st New Maryland Scouts group, the easiest way is via eTransfer to 1stnewmaryland@gmail.com. You may also attach a donation to the tree on the morning of the collection if that is easier for you. If you’d prefer a different option, please feel free to send me a PM and we can make arrangement to collect your donation at your door either on the day of the pickup or at some time after. We do not knock on every door unless requested to do so.

We understand there are other drop off options for those who wish to recycle their tree through other worthy causes. The choice is yours and we encourage you to choose an option that best fits your needs / wishes.
