Boil Water Advisory
Village of New Maryland – Springwater Place (All Residents on Municipal Water)
Wednesday June 30, 2021
A localized boil water advisory has been ordered by the Department of Health in Springwater Place. This affects ALL RESIDENTS on Municipal Water in Springwater Place in the Village of New Maryland.
During a boil water advisory, it is important that all water destined for drinking, preparing infant formulas and juices, making ice cubes, washing fruits and vegetables, cooking and dental hygiene be held at a rolling boil for 1 minute.
Adults, adolescents and older children may shower, bathe or wash using tap water but should avoid swallowing the water. Toddlers and infants should be sponged bathed and caregivers need to ensure no water is drunk or swallowed.
Dishes and laundry may be washed in tap water, either by hand or by machine.
This boil water advisory is a cautionary measure and is a result of a water main break and the necessary repairs made to the water main earlier today.
The Department of Health requires two samples to be taken a minimum of 24 hours apart with negative results. We will be sampling once the repair is complete and collect a second sample 16 hours after. We will distribute a notification to residents immediately upon receiving the results of the samples.
We thank you for your patience during this situation. LMS
