“Construction Project Updates”

Construction Update along the New Maryland Highway (Hwy 101):

We are at the end of week two for construction, the contractor has installed approximately 220 meters of water main along New Maryland Highway from New Maryland Pharmacy to Peterson Park. The work also included several service laterals to homes and businesses.

The construction site is reduced to one lane and being controlled by traffic lights during the week. On weekends, the highway will be open to two lanes of traffic when possible.

**Please use caution when driving through the construction site, be mindful of your speed, construction equipment, workers, and please do not ignore the traffic signals. We want to ensure the safety of our workers and the public.**

Construction of two Well Control Buildings:

The foundations of the two new well control buildings have been poured and the contractor is in the process of backfilling the two buildings. Construction will continue with the erection of walls and pouring the floor slabs. NB Power has also installed utility poles to the well sites.

Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DTI) Construction Update:

As a reminder, DTI will start work on the New Maryland Highway with the replacement of the culvert at Baker Brook on Monday, 26 June 2023. Traffic detours will be constructed to direct traffic around the site.
